Processoptimation using the TETHYS^®-Gasanalysis method

Robust and close-to-process gas sampling, efficient gas preparation and the exact gasanalysis of important components by use of a mass spectrometer build the foundation for effective process-optimization at the electric arc furnace.

The process model that has been developed in joint effort with the Georgsmarienhütte Gmbh, together with a robust gas sampling technique offer multiple advantages:

• reduced power-consumption
• optimized use of resources
• reduction of melting-costs and thus
• increase of productivity of the electric arc furnace

The licence agreement between the Georgsmarienhütte Gmbh and the mrs Gmbh, signed on August 2007 layed the foundation for using these advantages for many electric arc furnaces.
